The Power of Visual Storytelling: Coming Next Week!

“Of all of our inventions for mass communication, pictures still speak the most universally understood language.”
~ Walt Disney

A blog is about more than words. It’s about pictures. And capturing your life, even if it never ends up on in a blog post, is all the more rewarding with great pictures that tell your story.

Next week, I’m super thrilled to have a guest blogger who’s taking over Momcomm for the entire week! She’ll be bringing you a three-part series on the power of visual storytelling.

Meet Amanda

Back when my blog Adventuroo was nearly brand new, Amanda featured my design on her website’s blog. That’s when I discovered what a great site she had. Her site, Everyday Elements Online, offers online classes, tips and more for improving photos with Photoshop Elements.

I’m not exaggerating when I tell you it’s CHOCK FULL of good info. In fact, just watching her slideshow on the homepage, you can see how she can teach you how to take a photo straight out of the camera and take it from good to WOW.

I’ve met Amanda twice in person (thanks to Type A Parent Conference) and both times we’ve gotten into great conversations about using photos on blogs, among other things. She’s a true rock star when it comes to this stuff.

What You’ll See Next Week

Amanda will be sharing tips to effectively apply visual storytelling to your blog. Here are a few things she’ll cover:

  • Fostering an emotional connection to your content
  • Increasing reader engagement through images
  • Learning what to leave out
  • Getting the best picture possible
  • And more great stuff!

Plus, you’ll get a discount if you decide to take any of her awesome online classes!

Stay tuned for all the visual storytelling excitement next week!

If you want a chance to put Amanda’s advice into action, I’ll be doing my third annual Week in My Life series over on my neglected personal blog Adventuroo. Week in My Life is a chance for you to capture and document a typical week in your life through pictures and words. It’s a pretty rigorous but very, very rewarding experience.
