You may have seen me hint at some big news I had to share.
While it doesn’t have anything to do with Momcomm or Adventuroo, it’s the kind of news that practically made me jump up and down so it’s one I just can’t keep to myself…
I’m now the Community Manager at Burt’s Bees!
(excuse me while I pick myself up off the floor)
(wait, give me a sec)
(okay, I’m up)
I’ve been a big fan of Burt’s Bees for years (their cuticle cream is an old staple of mine). And a few years ago when we moved to Raleigh, I thought how cool it would be to work there (they’re based in nearby Durham). Well, here I am– started last Tuesday!
In my new role, I’ll be writing content for their Facebook page, compiling and analyzing analytics and helping with social media strategies. Eventually I may even do some things for Twitter. I’ve already been planning the content calendar (shout out to my Content Brew peeps), writing content and all that fun stuff. I’m currently working with the Content and Social Media Manager, who has done an awesome job building up the company’s presence. Did I mention that we have over ONE MILLION Facebook fans? Sweet!
It’s a 20-hour a week contract position, which fits in perfectly with my life right now. I can still do my blogs and have the kids in preschool part-time. I’ll even mostly be working from home. But I’m going into the office some… sitting in meetings and other things you actually sorta miss when you work from home. I can’t think of a better balance on the job front.
Of course, I’d love it if you’d keep up with all the Burt’s Bees buzz by following us on Facebook and Twitter.
I’ll stop now with the bee references. I will just say how thrilled I am with my new role and how happy it makes me to share this news with all of you!
